The photos listed are of the actual product for sale. All used gear and instruments are shot by our in-house photography team.

Serial Number: Model 400- 4722

Made in Japan in 1984, this iconic drum machine is one of the first to implement midi controls. The samples are warm and punchy and the levels and tune of each of the 13 drum sounds can be easily adjusted on the fly. It can be loaded with EPROM cards for even more tonal options. A unique feature of this drum machine is that the snare sound triggers a few milliseconds late, creating a distinct beat.

Writing sequences with this drum machine is easy and intuitive and the bevy of outputs give the drum machine quite a bit of versatility, even 40 years later. It has been used by Prince, Depeche Mode, and has recently found a home with Tame Impala. The DrumTraks can output a 24PPQN clock signal and is fully midi capable, making it easy to integrate into a contemporary setup.

This drum machine is in very good used condition. It was purchased on September 6, 1984 and has had one owner. There are a few minor scratches and scuffs on the chassis and a couple of scratches and dings on the wood panels. The previous owner carved their driver's license on the back panel of the chassis near the serial number and on the bottom of the unit. It's quite large on the bottom, but fairly discreet on the back panel. All of the pads are responsive and all functions work as they should.

Sale includes instrument, Drum Works Sound Chips Paperwork, and original receipts.
