Nick Marocco is the founder and president of Rock City Music Company which opened in November of 2016. He is an avid vinyl record collector, music lover and drummer for hard rock tribute act Denim & Leather, rockabilly legend Robert Gordon and Detroit stalwarts Twistin’ Tarantulas. Surrounded by music for his entire life, Nick’s #1 objective with Rock City Music Company is to bring the joy of music to the masses.
From Vinyl to CD's to Books and back home to Vinyl, Scotty has been working in multimedia retail for 30 years. In 2019, he brought his ethic and knowledge of music retail to Rock City expanding on the stores Vinyl, CD, Clothing & Collectibles departments. Outside of Rock City he is an avid vinyl collector and operates the Detroit based indie label Bellyache Records, of which he is the co-founder of, since 2005. He was also the bassist for the Michigan based rock band, Grande Nationals, from 2003 to 2019.
David Cwik, better known around Rock City Music Company as “Ducky” is known not only for his hard work and dedication but also for his never ending knowledge, shredding guitar playing, spot on Ace Frehley impression and his great hair. He is the co-lead guitarist of hard rock tribute band “Denim & Leather” and drummer for Detroit thrash metal titans “Black Herion”
Jesse Manns has been surrounded by music since birth thanks to the influence of his legendary father, Mitch Manns. Playing his first live shows at the age of just 5 he has been spotted playing guitar, bass, drums, pedal steel, mandolin, banjo and even violin for a multitude of genres and artists. Currently you can catch Jesse with The Whistle Stop Revue, Derringer and his duo with Crystal Hoffman.
Scott Dailey has worked in Music Retail for over 20 years. He has received training and certification with several of the major musical instrument manufacturers such as Fender, Taylor and Gibson Guitars. As a well-known Detroit-area guitar player, Scott has won multiple Detroit Music Awards and is also a singer/songwriter, recording artist and compelling live performer. He has played in influential bands here and on the road, receiving several awards, and is well-versed in quality gear and guitars. An avid guitar collector, with a passion for vintage instruments, Scott can assist you in buying, selling, or trading your gear. Whether you are looking for your first instrument, or one of many upgrades in your Rock City Music gear, Scott is here to help.
Lauren is a Livonia local, and has been managing music lessons for over three years at various outlets. Outside of her music career, Lauren is a mom, animal lover, and self proclaimed coffee enthusiast. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, baking, and listening to supernatural/true crime podcasts. If you're brand new to playing, or a seasoned player looking to brush up on a few things, Lauren can assist you on getting started with one of our amazing instructors!
Joe is a well seasoned guitar instructor at Rock City Music Company! He has been playing guitar for 54 years,and has been teaching for a total of 45 year!. Joe's favorite guitarists include Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Jimi Hendrix. Joe is a big fan of The Beatles, and actually got to see them in concert when he was 9 years old! Outside of music, Joe loves watching WWE, The ID Channel, and anything true crime related. He has been married to his wife Lisa for 43 years, who performed as a singer with him up until 5 years ago, and they have two daughters: Lisa and Mary.
You can catch Joe every Thursday at The Crystal Lounge in Westland, where he leads the Joe Ligreci Band. This month marks their 16th anniversary playing there! Wednesday, Friday and Saturday Joe plays lead guitar in the Mark James Band at the Clawson Steakhouse.

Ben has been teaching here with us for just about 2 years and is currently here on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Overall, Ben has been teaching guitar to people of all ages from beginners to advanced players for nearly 5 years. While he is well versed in multiple styles of music… he is an avid fan of teaching classic, alternative & heavy rock genres.
Aside from teaching guitar…Ben is an avid bicyclist & photographer but it always comes back to playing guitar. He has been active on the Detroit music scene for nearly 20 years & currently performs with the legendary Detroit Heavy Metal band Halloween as well as playing original music in Corduroy Job, a Scorpions tribute band called The Zoo & a cover band called Three Guys and a Dude. He is well rounded and very busy musician!

Austin is a 25 year old graduate of the University of Michigan Dearborn, and has been playing drums for over 12 years. While Austin is well-versed in multiple genres of music and drum instruction… his biggest influence in music has been the band Between the Buried and Me as they illustrate his love for metal, and his soft spot for the silky, smooth sounds of jazz music. Austin is excited to teach at Rock City, and bring out the musician in everyone, to make them fall in love with drums the way he has. Outside of drumming, Austin is an avid sports fan, and currently writes for the Motor City Bengals, and Sports Radio Detroit. You can catch Austin in one of many of his associated acts : Pick Axe Preacher, Somewhere South of Here, Pyrrhic, Dragged Beneath, RCCG Amazing Grace Chapel, Malevolencey, and Dusk Eternal.
