This Guitar:

Weight: 7 lbs 13.4 oz

Serial Number: 244947

This guitar was made in Fullerton, California in 1969. The Fender Custom (or Maverick) is another strange chapter from Fender's history. It was made using leftover parts from the Electric XII which did not perform commercial as well as anticipated. The Electric XII body was cut down using a band-saw to make to unique and bizarre body. The electronics and pickups are the same as the Electric XII, but string through bridge was replaced with a Mustang Dynamic Vibrato. The previous bridge routing holes were filled and covered with a black finish. Sales on the Maverick never took off and it was dropped from production after one year.

This guitar is in excellent vintage condition. All parts are original. The body has a beautiful aged appearance with light nitro-checking on the finish. There are scratches on the bottom of the guitar and small dings on the body. The neck binding is cracked various spots along its length, but the neck is in very good condition. The original frets are worn. The split coil pickups date 10/20/66, 10/22/66, and 11/23/66. All electronics and hardware function as they should.

Includes original hardshell case in excellent vintage condition.
