USED 1963 Kawai S-1 Electric Guitar

This Japanese guitar from 1963 was made as a beginner instrument and could be purchased from department stores of the era. They are typified by their quirky shapes and unique single coil pickups. Since the pickup is quite low in output, this guitar benefits greatly from running a boost pedal or a fuzz after it. It can achieve some really cool mid-century garage rock tones with the right settings. This model is made entirely from mahogany and is incredibly light. There is no truss rod, so the string action is a little high, but still playable. 

Instrument is in very good condition considering its age. There is quite a bit of play wear and some chips in the paint, particularly around the headstock. Instrument has some dings and dents on the body and neck, but they just add to the vintage charm and don't affect playability. Check photos to see the condition.
