This Guitar:

Weight: 7 lbs

Serial Number: L47824

This guitar was made in 1964 in Fullerton, California. The Mustang was first introduced as a student model in 1964. It features a smaller offset body with a 24" scale length neck giving the instrument a relaxed string tension. The Fender Dynamic Vibrato Tailpiece is what really sets the Mustang apart. It combines a floating bridge with the vibrato tailpiece and a short slanted vibrato arm results in a highly expressive tremolo system that transfers movement in a much more direct way than previous tremolo systems. The Mustang gained a massive cult following in the 1990' with notable players include Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and, of course, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.

This guitar is in very good vintage condition. There is nitro-checking on the whole body. The sides of the instrument have some paint chipping. There is a small divot on the fretboard at the first fret. The headstock has small nicks on it. The finish on the back of the neck is worn through near the headstock. The frets are in good condition. All electronics and hardware function as they should. Back of pickups date 12/7/1964.

Includes original hardshell case in excellent vintage condition.
