This Guitar:
Weight: 5 lbs 8.7 oz
Serial Number: 260970
This guitar was made in Fullerton, California in 1969. The Fender Swinger (or Arrow, or Musiclander) is a strange side quest in Fender's story. Made during the CBS era, it was created using spare parts from other models. This guitar uses a Bass V or Duo-Sonic II body and has a 22.5 inch scale length. There were only between 250-600 of these instruments made. It has achieved a cult status owing to its rarity, bizarre history, and also because Tina Weymouth played a Swinger during the iconic Talking Heads Stop Making Sense concert film.
This instrument is in very good vintage condition. The finish along the bottom edge has worn off in a few places. The body has nitro-checking all over and the back has long finish cracks. There are small nicks on the headstock edge. The back of the pickup has the code 1479. All electronics and hardware functions as they should. The frets are in good condition.
Includes original hardshell case in very good vintage condition. Lining is worn in places and some of the leather on the edges of the case has torn off.
