This Guitar:
Weight: 7 lbs 11.1 oz
Serial Number: 5-9213
This guitar was made in DeQueen, Arkansas in 1979. The 7628 Committee is a gem of Baldwin era Gretsch. It was made to be competition to the Gibson SG. It features neck through design with a walnut body with maple stripes. The pickguard and control cavity are a unique translucent smoke plastic. This guitar stands out with its unique body shape and its double and triple fret markers. The lackluster original pickups have been replaced with 1980's era DiMarzio X2N Power Plus in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan JB in the neck. These pickups combined with the slim neck makes this a 70's shredder with classic appointments.
This guitar is in excellent vintage condition. All components besides the pickups are original. There are small dings and scratches on the body and a couple of small dings on the top of the headstock. The knobs have an aged appearance. The neck is in excellent condition, but the original frets are worn. All electronics and hardware function as they should.
Includes original hardshell case in very good vintage condition. Center locking latch is broken, but the other two latches are functional. Small tears on tolex.
