This pedal is in good vintage condition. It was only manufactured between 1986 and 1988 in Japan making it one of the most rare pedals in Boss's lineup. It unique auto-wah sound has graced the boards of Flea, Kevin Shields, and Seth Govan. It was produced during a time when auto-wah effects were out of favor and was quickly discontinued due to poor sales. It's rarity has led to a cult following over the years.
This pedal shows heavy signs of wear on the chassis from decades of use. The labels for each knob are still legible, but the labels for input, output, and expression in are mostly worn away. The black label on the back of the pedal is missing. The serial number in the battery compartment is worn making exact dating of this pedal difficult. Despite the heavy use of this pedal, all functions work as intended. The rarity of this pedal along with its cosmetic damage earned from years of use makes this pedal an excellent collectors item.
